Cardona 2017 Summary: Blackchin tilapia Sarotherodonmelanotheron having a local name of "Tilapiang Gloria", was raised and sold for ornamental purposes. Mid 1950's it's been released in natural environment due to most likely accidentally escaped from aquarium trade but there were other speculation that was intentionally introduces by fishermen. Since, then, there had been a widespread geographical distribution, lowering of biodiversity and socio economic productivity. The study investigate the effect of blackchin (Sarotherodon melanotheron) in small-scale fishermen in three (3) island barangays of Cardona and five (5) island of Barangays of Binangonan in the province of Rizal for eight (8) consecutive weeks. The descriptive design used survey technique covering eighty (80) respondent small-scale fishermen. The survey form of questionnaire checklist was used in the study. The researcher personally administered the survey form instrument. Actual observation and personal interviews were also conducted. Researcher shows that Blackchin tilapia continuously proliferating in the water of Binangonan and Cardona, Rizal. The data reveals that Blackchin tilapia is most abundant in the waters of Cardona than in Binangonan.
