EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: This study aimed to develop a Convertible Wheel chair which is double-functioned furniture. The project is a combination of wheelchair and bed. It was conducted in the University of Rizal System Morong, Rizal during school year 2016-2017. Also it aimed to determine the level of acceptability in terms of durability, functionality, usefulness and safety. It also determined the significance difference between the evaluations made by the respondents on the acceptability of the Convertible Wheelchair and Ordinary Wheelchair in terms of the above mentioned criteria. In conducting this study, the researchers utilized the developmental and descriptive type of research method since this study focused on the design and construction of the convertible wheelchair. The respondents of the study comprised the experts, nurses and persons with disabilities (PWDs) who were the respondents of the study. The study found that, the convertible wheelchair obtained a verbal interpretation of extremely durable, very functional, very useful and extremely safe. Based from the conclusion the conclusion the design of convertible wheelchair was extremely accepted by the respondents on its durability, functionality, usefulness and safety on the other hand the ordinary wheelchair got a level of satisfaction in terms of durability, functionality, usefulness and safety. There was significant difference on the design of convertible wheelchair and the ordinary wheelchair with respect to durability, functionality, usefulness and safety. And based from the summary of findings and conclusion, the convertible wheelchair is highly recommended to have a mass production, more durable materials is encouraged to be used in constructing the project and further studies must be conducted, considering other variables.
