Thesis (Bachelor of Elementary Education in Content Courses) -- University of Rizal System-Morong.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: The study was conducted to determine the effectiveness of assessment strategies utilized by Mathematics teachers. This was conducted during the year 2016-2017 at the University of Rizal System-Morong, Rizal. The subjects of the study were fifteen (15) primary and ten (10) intermediate teachers of mathematics. The study used the descriptive-evaluate method of research utilizing validated modified questionnaire-checklist main tool in gathering data. As the assessment strategies were presented, the questionnaire-checklist was given to the respondents to evaluate its effectiveness. Frequency, percentage, and mean were used as the statistical tools to answer the problems in line with the study, The study found out that assessment strategies as evaluated by Mathematics teachers with respect to paper-and-pencil, performance based, observational, oral and combination of the strategies were "Very Much Effective" and "Much Effective". Based on the summary of findings and conclusion drawn from the study the following recommendations were made: the Mathematics teachers must be encouraged to use and adapt the different strategies in assessing students, choose the best and effective strategy in order to improve the student's performance in the class. The researchers also recommend to conduct a parallel study considering the other variables.
