Dissertation note: Thesis BS in Psychology University of Rizal System Tanay 2019 Summary: ABSTRACT The aim of this study was to determine the academic anxiety experiences and its relationship to academic performance of Grade 9 and 10 students of University of Rizal System, Tanay. The respondents of this study consisted of 120 out of 169 students who are in young adulthood stage aged 14 to 16. The researchers used descriptive method of research. The study utilized questionnaire checklist in gathering data needed. While in analysis and interpretation of data were aided with the use of frequency, percentage distribution, weighted mean, mean, one-way ANOVA, and chi-square. Salient findings of the study were as follows: The respondents were mostly from age 14, females, eldest in the family and whose father and mother are college graduate with Ᵽ 10,001 to Ᵽ 20,000 income which enough to provide the needs of the family. The results revealed that the respondents sometimes experienced academic anxiety, particularly, academic task anxiety, language related anxiety and cooperation with peers. There is no significant difference in the respondents' profile except in cooperation with peers and language related anxiety. Among the academic anxiety experienced by the respondents, both cooperation with peers and language related anxiety had found significant difference in terms of their profile which are their age and educational attainment of their father. There is no significant relationship between academic anxiety experiences and academic performance of the respondents. The researchers offered the following recommendations: the school is encouraged to raise the awareness of anxiety to the students and teachers through a conduct of informative programs and seminars to deepen the knowledge of both teachers and students on how to deal with it; a collaborative action between parents and teachers to lessen the level of anxiety experienced be conducted and students are encouraged to create self-adjustment towards the school environment with the guidance of the school counselor and their teachers.
