Dissertation note: Thesis Bachelor of Secondary Education University of Rizal System 2018 Summary: This study dealt on the performance in English and co - curricular activities of ESGP-PA Scholars in University of Rizal System. There are 33 respondents 16 students from College of Agriculture, 9 from the College Of Science and Education and 8 from College of Agri-business Management. The descriptive method was utilized in this study. The grades in English of the scholars were gathered to determine their performance in English and questionnaire checklist was utilized to determine the co - curricular involvement of the same. The findings of the study are as follows: The ESGP-PA scholars are dominated by those who belong to age 20 -21. There are more females than males. Most number belongs to first born and there are more parents who obtained secondary level. Most of the respondents belong to low earner families. They are members of the different school organizations. Most scholars got Fair performance in English subject. The respondents claimed that they are Often times attending the local or school based co - curricular activities, and Seldom attended regional/national level co - curricular activities. Students belonging to the eldest group have obtained higher mean in their attendance or involvement in the local level co-curricular activitiesThe males' attendance is higher than females although both of them often attend co - curricular activities. As to parents' educational attainment, children with parents who obtained elementary and secondary level have often joined and attended co-curricular organizations and activities. Second born children often attend local level co- curricular activities and regardless of sibling position, everyone has seldom attend regional level co - curricular activities. Based on the findings of the study, the following conclusions are drawn: Most of the ESGP-PA scholars belong to 20 - 21 age, females, first born child. They have parents who obtained high school and belong to poverty line. They involved more in local level co-curricular activities in line with their course/s and seldom attend regional/national levels. 20 - 21 age scholars have high attendance in co - curricular organizations. Second born often attend local level activities regardless of parent educational attainment, scholar respondents attend activities. Based on the findings and conclusions, the following recommendations are hereby offered: Scholars shall be encouraged to join and involve themselves in more co- curricular activities that would enhance their total development. Parents may be oriented about their roles in motivating their children to engage themselves in co- curricular activities that would be their training ground in leadership roles, and community services. It is encouraged that the school increase its subsidy for the leadership and personality training of students belonging to different programs and scholarships and conduct similar studies along this area using other variables.
