Dissertation note: Thesis Master of Arts in Teaching major in Mathematics University of Rizal System-Morong 2010 Summary: EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: This study aimed to develop a modularized instructional material in plane and spherical trigonometry during the school year 2009-2010 to reinforce mathematics instruction with minimal assistance form the instruction in the college of science. The evaluation of the instructor and student respondents on the developed modularized instructional material in plane and spherical trigonometry in terms of objectives, contents, activities, style and presentation, organization, creativity and evaluation was determined using mean. Independent t-test was used to find out the significant difference between the evaluations of the two groups of respondents and also mean was applied to determine the assessment of the respondents on the validity of the developed instructional material in terms of accuracy, completeness and appropriateness. The hypothesis that there is no significant difference between the evaluations of the instructors and students on the instructional material with respect to objectives, contents, activities, style and presentation, organization, creativity and evaluation was tested. The study made use of the descriptive-developmental research method utilizing the adopted questionnaire. The respondents of this study were twenty (20) mathematics instructor who are teaching in the four colleges of the morong campus. Also, there were thirty four (34) second year BS math students who served as student respondents. The instrument used in this study is a questionnaire checklist consisting of three parts: profile of the respondents; evaluation of the instructional material in terms of objectives, contents, activities, style and presentation, organization, creativity and evaluation; and validity of the instructional material in terms of accuracy, completeness and appropriates. The findings of the study revealed that instructor and student respondents highly agree with the developed instructional material in terms of objectives and style and presentation. They are just agree in terms of contents, activities, organization, creativity and evaluation. A significant difference between the evaluations of the two groups of respondents in terms of the different between the evaluations of the two groups of respondents in terms of the different criteria was found. The student respondents are highly agree with the validity of the instructional material in terms of accuracy, completeness and appropriateness while the instruction respondents are just agree with the three criteria. On the basis of summary of findings. It was concluded that the developed modularized instruction can be used as supplementary teaching materials to enhance the performance of the students and the developed modularized instructional material in plane and spherical trigonometry instructional material in plane and spherical trigonometry can be used by the teacher to facilitate learning process in the classroom.
