520 _aEXECUTIVE SUMMARY: The study aimed to develop, validate and test the effectiveness of the developed smart mag in the teaching of Afro-Asian Literature. The study was conducted at the university of Rizal System Laboratory School, Morong, Rizal during the school year 2015-2016. This study used experiment-developmental and descriptive methods of research. In the conduct of the study, the statistical treatments used were the mean, standard deviation and t-test. The findings of the study revealed that the mean scores of the posttest were higher than the mean scores of the pretest of the two (2) groups of respondents; the mean score of the experimental group was higher than the score of the control group and it shows that the experimental group acquired more knowledge and comprehension after the exposure to the developed Smart Mag; the performance of the control and experimental groups as revealed by the pretest and posttest was found to be significally different with respect to the different lessons in Afro-Asian Literature specifically, Indian Epics and the effectiveness of the developed Smart Mag was found to be much effective. Based on the findings of the study, the students who were exposed to the developed Smart Mag performed better than the students who did not use the material with respect to the different lessons in Afro-Asian Literature specifically, Indian Epics as revealed by their postttest scores; the developed Smart mag is an acceptable and effective material in teaching Afro-Asian; and the developed Smart mag serve as a valuable tool for an effective teaching-learning process as revealed by its high acceptability among respondents.
