EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: The study was entitled social awareness on disaster preparedness of adolescents in Tanay, Rizal. The main objective of this research was to determine the extent of the social awareness to disaster preparedness of the respondents with respect to typhoon, flood and earthquake and its significant difference with regards to gender, age, year level, sibling position and monthly family income. The purpose of this study was to know the social awareness on disaster preparedness of adolescents in Tanay, Rizal. The subject of the study was the selected students in fourth year high school of Tanay National High school. The subject composed of forty-one (41) girls and forty-one (41) boys with the total of Eighty two (82) respondents. In getting the subject the quota random sampling was used in order to limit subject into the desired number of respondents.The variables used were gender, age, year level, sibling position and monthly family income. The researchers made questionnaire checklist which they used to obtain the necessary data through descriptive type of research, utilizing the survey questionnaire checklist. One way analysis of variance was used to determine the social awareness on disaster preparedness of adolescents in Tanay, Rizal. The collected data were treated, interpreted and summarized presentations of comprehensive findings of the study were done. Findings revealed that as perceived by the respondents, earthquake is the most dominant, followed by flood and lastly, typhoon. To the students, this will help in absorbing additional knowledge and information to open their heart and mind that social awareness can help them how to deal with and cope up with disasters that may strike to their community, a parallel study maybe conducted considering other variables. Based on the findings, gender, age, year level, sibling position and monthly family income is not significant of the extent of social awareness of the adolescents but gender was found to be significant on the disaster typhoon. Based from the study following conclusions were drawn: respondents are equal male and female with 82 respondents, second children ages 17-18 and all of the respondents are 4th year students and most also is in the 1st sibling position with monthly family income of 11,000-15,999 typhoon, flood and earthquake are often socially aware to the disaster preparedness of the adolescents in Tanay, Rizal. It is recommended that educational institutions may provide training for teachers on how to deal with natural disasters using calamity learning modules to instruct students on the importance of disaster preparation and fun science activities so that the social awareness of an adolescents will be build or developed.
