EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: This study aimed to developed and construct a Modified Refrigerant recovery Unit specifically, it aimed to design and construct a recovery unit out of locally available materials and determined the acceptability of the project in terms of Usefulness, functionality, safety, maintenance and durability features and test the significant difference between the acceptability and performance of the existing recovery unit and modified refrigerant recovery unit. It was conducted at the University of Rizal System Morong Campus during S.Y. 2015-2016 It utilized developmental and descriptive methods of research to determine the acceptability of the modified refrigerant recovery unit. Also, an adapted and modified checklist was used and validated by 10 experts and 10 end-users from Electromechanical and Electrical Technology in the College of Industrial Technology. Try-out and revision were also done by the researchers during trial and the corresponding revision to correct this effects. After the construction of the Modified Refrigerant recovery unit its operation were tested and correction were made on the defective parts and components. Based on the summary of findings, the developed Modified refrigerant recovery unit found to be extremely accepted as compared to existing recovery unit as to usefulness, functionality, safety, maintenance and durability as evaluated by the experts and the end-users. The study concluded that, the developed modified refrigerant recovery unit has no significant difference on the existing recovery unit in terms of usefulness, functionality, safety, maintenance, durability, time of recovering refrigerant amount of refrigerant recovered. Based from the result of the findings and conclusion, the study recommended that, financial support should be given for implementation and lastly, parallel study should be made to understand and improve this study.
