The poultry industry is one of the most important sectors of the global economy, with an increasing demand for high-quality animal protein. However, the production of animal feed could be costly, and it has a significant impact on the environment. Therefore, there is a need to explore alternative sources of feed that could improve animal performance while reducing the cost of production and minimizing the environmental impact
This study aimed to determine the effects of eggshells as a source of calcium on laying quails' performance. The study has three (3) treatments each having three (3) replications with a total of nine (9) experimental units. A randomized complete block design was employed, with three treatment groups receiving different amounts of eggshells in their diet. Treatment 1, is the control group that was provided with commercial feeds only and has no eggshell powder added, while Treatment 2 and 3 were provided with 20 grams and 40 grams of eggshell powder added to the feed respectively.
