This study aimed to determine the impact of urbanization on insects' biodiversity in Barangay San Isidro, Rodriguez, Rizal.

The researchers used descriptive qualitative research methods to describe situations of existing problems. The researchers used the list of insects by order as identified by Britannica Encyclopedia to determine the existing insects in the purposively chosen sitios and questionnaire, pictures, videos and a face to face interview were conducted to the purposively chosen barangay officials in Brgy. San Isidro.

Based on the data gathered, the following findings were obtained: The most abundant existing insects in the purposively chosen sitios are cockroaches, ants, mosquitoes, flies, fleas, and biting lice. Beetles, bugs, true bugs, cicadas, wasps, bees, termites, butterflies, mantis, grasshoppers, dragonflies, and cone heads still existing in sitio Masagucsoc, sitio Bangkal, sitio Lower Tanag, and sitio Anginan but there are negalive changes in their population nowadays.

In terms of habitat most of the insects had lost their home especially those who reside in trees and grasslands. The existence of friendly insects had decreased while harmful insects' population had increased. When it came to the friendly insects their survival rate was lessened due to habitat destruction while the survival rate of the harmful insects are higher for there are enough resources for them. Lastly, friendly insects interaction with other organisms are mostly negative for them because they have to compete for space and food while among harmful insects, their interaction with others are mostly beneficial for them for urbanization had provided them habitat and resources.

The Local Government Unit officials of Brgy. San Isidro, Rodriguez, Rizal had not implemented any programs to preserve and protect the existence of insects biodiversity.

Based on the findings of the study, the researchers concluded that: In an area there are diverse types of insects due to their adaptation; most are lessened in number while others had increased in population. The impact of urbanization is mostly unfavorable to the insects but beneficial among man since it provides

those houses and jobs. There is no program initiated by the barangay officials, because their main goal is to provide houses for the residents than protecting the biodiversity of insects.

In the light of the findings and the recommendations are drawn. Students, they must find the scientific name of the insects that can be found in Brgy. San Isidro for localization purposes. Respondents of Barangay San Isidro, they should not catch and kill insects instead they must set them free. Local Government Unit Officials, they must initiate programs to protect and preserve the insects in their area. They should conduct seminars to inform the residents about the importance of insects. Department of Environment and Natural Resources, their office must lead in protecting and preserving not just the insects but also the animals to avoid extinction of species. They must provide sanctuary for the insects and animals.
