Agriculture plays a vital role in surviving on this planet. Civilization began with the help of it. People like nomads are one of the best pieces of evidence in the history who benefited from farming. Through this concept of producing food, these people settled down, formed societies and eventually became nations. However, society continues to develop, so did the means of farming. With that being said, farming requires a lot of hard work due to its long process of producing products. It wouldn’t just end in harvesting farm produce but it needs to be innovated as conditions require it. Simply, reaping of agriculture goods is not the end point of the process. The farmers are obliged to ensure every agricultural product has passed the standards of the market in terms of its appearance, and is safe for human consumption. The study specifically aimed to test the performance of machine in terms of Quality, Time, and Quantity of the cleaned root crops. It also has the goal to evaluate the level of acceptability of the machine in terms of Usability, Performance Efficiency, Reliability, and Maintainability. As part of the research survey, the questionnaire checklist was given to 50 respondents, who are Farmers in Bagumbong Jalajala Rizal, Field Experts and Students. This study is a developmental type of research and according to the respondents the performance of the Solar Powered Root Crop Sieving Machine was verbally interpreted as highly acceptable in testing the quality of the cleaned root crops, the time of cleaning process of the root crops, and the quantity of the cleaned root crops. And to determine the level of acceptability of the Solar Powered Root Crop Sieving Machine in terms of its Usability, Efficiency, Reliability, and Maintainability was deemed highly acceptable. Based on the result, the overall weighted mean of the respondents' evaluations of the Design and Development of a Solar Powered Root Crop Sieving Machine in Bagumbong, Jalajala Rizal in the performance of the machine: In terms of the quality of cleaned root crops, the average weighted mean is 3.8 and verbally interpreted as Highly Acceptable. In terms of the time of cleaning process of root crops, the overall weighted mean is 3.6 and is verbally interpreted as Highly Acceptable. Lastly, in terms of the quantity of cleaned root crops the overall weighted mean is 3.7 and verbally interpreted as Highly Acceptable. For the overall weighted mean of the respondents' evaluations in level of the acceptability of Solar Powered Root Crop Sieving Machine in terms of Usability, the weighted mean is 3.46 and verbally interpreted as Highly Acceptable. In terms of Efficiency, the weighted mean is 3.77 and verbally interpreted as Highly Acceptable. In terms of Reliability, the weighted mean is 3.23 and verbally interpreted as Acceptable. In terms of Maintainability, the overall average weighted mean is 3.33 and verbally interpreted as Highly Acceptable. Finally, this study arrived to a conclusion that the proponents were able to design and develop a Solar Powered Root Crop Sieving Machine in Bagumbong, Jalajala Rizal. In line with the data results and findings accumulated, the researchers recommend that the device's capacity could be increased to make it more space-efficient in order to increase the kilograms of root crops that can be cleaned. Additionally, in drying root crops, it is recommended to use a blower with a heating system to help the root crops dry faster. The researchers also advise utilizing a glass fiber-reinforced polymer (GFRP) material for the sieving tray rather than galvanized metal sheets in order to reduce the noise that the machine creates once the sieving phase has started. Utilizing self-lubricating bearings is also advisable since they enable continuous operation and save downtime. On top of that, it can withstand liquids, which is advantageous because it is likely to get wet.
