520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: This study entitled Development of Automatic Energy Saving Security System was developed through utilization of programmable microcontroller, sensor and wireless technology, and conservation of energy system. This study aimed to developed a device that automatically turns on and off the appliances with security feature and an energy saving unit. Specifically, it sought answer to specific objectives: develop an automatic energy saving security system, test the performance of the device in terms of security system, automatic switching, control, and energy saving device, determine the level of acceptability of the Automatic Energy Saving Security System in terms of design, functionality, usefulness and safety and maintenance. To achieve the objectives of the study, the researchers utilized the developmental and descriptive evaluative research design. The researchers used the mentioned research design since the study undergone development and evaluated in relation to its performance in terms of security system, automatic switch, control and energy saving device. It was also evaluated on its level of acceptability in terms of design, functionality, usefulness, and safety and maintenance by the experts and end-users. Two groups or respondents were considered which consist of ten (10) households from residential areas and ten (10) experts I the field of electronics. After the analysis and interpretation of data gathered from the stages of designing and evaluation, the summary of the results was established. The developed automatic energy saving security system was successful. The features of the device performed its function. For the evaluation of the performance of the device in terms of security system, in terms of the SMS, based on the trials made it performed its function 10 out of 10, with an average time the SMS received of 6-10 seconds. In terms of the alarm, the alarm responded 10 out of 10 trials conducted by the researchers with a percentage of a 100%. For the evaluation of the performance of the device in terms of automatic switching, it was revealed that the automatic switch performed its function 10 out of the 10 trials made with a 100% of functionality. For the evaluation of the performance of the device in terms of control, it was observed that it performed its function 100%, it responded 10 to the trials made by the researchers. For the evaluation of the performance of the device in terms of energy saving unit, it was concluded that it performed its function according to design and gave an average power of about 350W within 6 hrs in a day. The device was very much acceptable as perceived by the two groups of respondents. For the evaluation of acceptability of the device in terms of design, it was concluded that it was very much accepted since it got an average mean of 4.46 as professed by the households and average mean of 4.32 as perceived by the experts, with an overall general mean of 4.39. for the evaluation of the acceptability of the device in terms of usefulness, it was revealed that it was very much accepted as evaluated by the households and experts with average mean of 4.63 and 4.45 respectively, and an overall general mean of 4.54. for the evaluation of the acceptability of the device in terms of functionality, it was observed that the device is very much acceptable as perceived by the two groups of respondents as it obtained the same average mean of 4.4. for the evaluation of the acceptability of the device in terms of safety and maintenance, it was revealed that is was very much accepted by the households and experts as it obtained an overall general mean of 4.34.
