Summary, etc EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: This study entitled Development of Package Type Air Conditioning Unit Trainer Board, aimed to design and construct a Package Type Air Conditioning Unit Trainer Board that could be used as a teaching device. Specifically, it determined the acceptability of the project in terms of functionality, safety and maintenance, utilization, durability and design. Likewise, it also determined the significant difference on the evaluation made by the experts and end users with respect to the mentioned variables, and developed a user's manual that is intended for the use for the developed Package Type Air Conditioning Unit Trainer Board. The package Type Air Conditioning Unit Trainer Board was designed and constructed from locally available materials which consisting of an Package Type Air Conditioning Unit, angle bars, wires, ply board, contactor and relay. The study had encountered technical problems during the development of the project and in order to solve the technical problems the researchers incorporate their knowledge in air conditioning such as troubleshooting, brazing and replacement of faulty parts. It utilized developmental and descriptive methods of research to determine the acceptability of the developed package type air conditioning unit trainer board. Also, it used an adapted modified questionnaire checklist validated by the experts in Electromechanical and Electrical Technology in Industrial Technology. There were two groups of respondents who tested the acceptability of the project. They have enough knowledge, skills and understanding on the operation of the project. The total numbers of respondents were thirty (30), who were the end users and experts from the College of Industrial Technology. Based on the evaluation of the project on the level of acceptability in terms of functionality, safety and maintenance, utilization, durability and design as perceived by the respondents it was found very much accepted through statistical treatments. The significant difference of the two groups of respondents on the level of acceptability of the developed package type air conditioning unit trainer board found that, there is no significant difference as proven statistically, therefore the hypothesis is accepted and verbally interpreted as not significant in terms of functionality, safety and maintenance, utilization, durability and design. The researchers have developed a user's manual that is intended for the operation of the project with provided instructions on how to operate, description of components and safety instructions. The user's manual will ensure the user's safety and will prolong the life of the trainer board. And lastly, based on the results, the study arrived at the following recommendation; the developed package type air conditioning unit trainer board must be utilized as a training device to be used by the electromechanical students, refrigeration and air conditioning and other related field of specialization. Further study on the package type air conditioning unit trainer board must be enhanced by means of adding of refrigerant to approximately 17.5 amperes for high cooling of the unit. Add terminal logs for the wire to prevent lose contacts. Attaching of wiring diagram at the trainer board for wiring identification and familiarization. The bracket must be fully painted to prevent rust. Adding of braces on the cart wheel to strengthen and support the trainer board. Conduct study on the effectiveness of Package Type Air Conditioning Unit Trainer Board for teaching-learning process. Enhance the trainer board by means of adding or developing controls which can be used for commercial air conditioning. And also develop modules intended for the package type air conditioning unit trainer board.
