| Summary, etc. | EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: This study was conducted to determine the employability of employability of bachelor of technology major in hotel and restaurant management graduates during the school year 2014-2015. The subjects of the study were one-hundred fifty (150) graduates of Bachelor of Technology Major in Hotel and Restaurant Management during the school year 2008-2009, 2009-2010, 2010-2011, 2011-2012, 2012-2013 who are residents from municipalities of Taytay, Angono, Binangonan, Cardona, Morong, Baras, Tanay and Pillila and Antipolo City. The one-hundred fifty (150) respondents were selected using purposive sampling. The study used descriptive method of research utilizing the modified questionnaire-checklist to gather information about the employability of Bachelor of Technology Major in Hotel and Restaurant Management graduated. To determine the profile of the respondents, frequency and percentage distribution were applied. To determine the employment status of Bachelor of Technology Major in Hotel and Restaurant Management graduates with respect to the type of employment, status of appointment, job hunting time and length of service, frequency and percentage distribution was applied. To determine the significant relationship between the status of the respondents and their profile, analysis of variance (ANOVA) was used. The result indicated that majority of respondents are female with ages 21-25 years old, single, earns 5000 and below, graduated from year 2010 and currently residing in Cardona. Most of the respondents are working on field unrelated to hospitality industry, employed and working as substitute, found a job immediately after graduating and have worked 3 years and above. On the significant relationship of the employability of Bachelor of Technology Major in Hotel and Restaurant Management with regards to different aspects in terms of sex, age, monthly income year graduated and residence, there is no significance, since it does exceed at the 0.05 level of significance. Therefore, the null hypothesis is accepted. However, in terms of Age, Civil status, Monthly Income and Year graduated, there is significant relationship, since it does not exceed at 0.05 level of significance, therefore the null hypothesis failed to reject. Based on the mentioned summary of findings and conclusions, the following recommendations were formulated: the University should continue giving opportunities to students to be exposed on different activities that really help much in the development of their total personality; enrich the hospitality management education curriculum and introduce newest trends to cope with the global demands; strengthen the entrepreneurial course to encourage graduates in different businesses to be more productive individuals and; other parallel studies should be conducted. |
