| 520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
| Summary, etc. | EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: This study aimed to develop and design the Grinding sliding Machine for edge cutting tools to solve the problem of proper way of grinding specifically chisel and plane iron, in laboratory shop and help them to lessen un-square edges of chisel and plane in terms of accuracy of grinding and help them to minimize the time in grinding. This study aimed to develop a Modified Sliding Grinding Machine for Edge Cutting Tools out of locally available and low cost materials in community. Specifically, this study sought to design and construct the Modified Sliding Grinding Machine for Edge Cutting tools and to perform try-out and revision as well as to determine the level of acceptability of the modified sliding grinding machine for edge cutting tools in terms of performance, usefulness, durability and safety and maintenance. Likewise, to determine the significant difference on the level of acceptability between the Modified Sliding Machine for edge cutting Tools and the existing grinding machine in terms of the above mentioned variables. And last to prepare of operating manual for Modified Sliding Grinding Machine for Edge Cutting Tools. The study was conducted at the University of Rizal System Morong, Rizal during the School year 2015-2016. The study utilized the researcher made questionnaire checklist as their instrument to determine the acceptability of the Modified Sliding Grinding Machine for Edge Cutting Tools. The instructors of Civil Technology as well as in other areas specialization validated the researchers questionnaire. The validated instrument was answered by the respondents who provide pertinent information and perception crucial to the completion of the study. The respondents were five (5) Professors in the college of industrial technology; two (2) Civil Technology Instructor, three (3) Mechanical Technology instructors and sixteen (16) Bachelor of Technology Students major in Civil Technology. Based on the summary of findings, the researchers found out that the Modified Sliding Grinding Machine for Edge Cutting Tools as a whole its performance, usefulness, durability and safety and maintenance, as evaluated by the experts and the end-user verbally interpreted as Outstanding, extremely satisfactory and extremely satisfactory and extremely useful based on the result. The researchers concluded that there is no significant difference between that the evaluation made by the experts and end-users on the acceptability of modified sliding grinding machine for edge cutting tools in terms of performance, usefulness, durability and safety and maintenance. |
