| 520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
| Summary, etc. | EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: This study aimed to develop the Milling Machine Multi-Cutter Holder. Specifically, this study attempted to determine the level of acceptability of the developed milling machine multi-cutter holder in terms of Performance, Usefulness, Durability and Safety and Maintenance. The researchers utilized an instrument which is a researchers'-made questionnaire checklist to determine the level of acceptability of the developed milling machine cutter holder. It is a validated instrument accomplished by the respondents who provided information for the completion of the study. The results were tallied and computed for analysis. There were two groups of respondents who tested the acceptability of the project. The first group consisted of ten (10) experts who had the knowledge, skills and fully understanding on the construction of the developed Milling Machine Multi-Cutter Holder while the other group consisted of twenty (20) second and third year students who are taking up Diploma of Technology and Bachelor of Technology course major in Mechanical Technology at the same University. Qualitative description was used in developing the milling machine multi-cutter holder and weighted mean was used in determining the acceptability of the milling machine multi-cutter holder. To determine its significant difference between the evaluations made by the two groups of respondents, T-test was used, Based on the analysis and interpretation of data, the study revealed that on the design and construction of the Milling Machine Multi-Cutter Holder, the researchers were able to design a well detailed assembly drawing, pictorial drawing, and exploded drawing and constructed milling machine multi-cutter holder out of locally available materials. On the level of acceptability of the project in terms of durability, the experts perceived the device as Excellent with weighted mean of 4.6 and the students perceived the device also as Excellent with a weighted mean of 4.7. In terms of Performance, the experts perceived the device as excellent with weighted mean of 4.6 and the students perceived the device also as Excellent with a weighted mean of 4.7. In terms of Usefulness, the experts perceived the device as excellent with weighted mean of 4.5 and the students perceived the device also as excellent with a weighted mean of 4.8. In terms of Safety and Maintenance, the experts perceived the device as excellent with weighted mean of 4.5 and the students perceived the device also as excellent with a weighted mean of 4.7. On the significant differences made by the experts and the students in terms of the above variables it was found out that there is no significant difference between the evaluations made by the mechanical and technology experts and students on the acceptability of the developed milling machine multi-cutter in terms of four variables: hence the null hypothesis was accepted. Based on the foregoing findings and conclusions the researchers recommended that administrators of Universities or Colleges should encourage their students and instructors to develop and construct instructional machine, gadget and other shop equipment. Assistance must be given to students undergoing similar research or study to defray the high cost of materials needed. Follow-up study may be conducted to improve the overall design of the device to increase its performance. |
