| 520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
| Summary, etc. | EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: This study aimed to developed an Improvised Threaded Scaffolding out of inexpensive and locally available materials. Specifically, it attempted to determine the level of acceptability of an Improvised Threaded Scaffolding in terms of usefulness, safety and maintenance, functionality and durability. The researchers utilized an adapted modified questionnaire checklist to determine the level of acceptability of the project. It was validated instrument and accomplished by the respondents who provided information for the completion of the study. The results were tallied and computed for analysis. There were two groups of respondents who tested the acceptability of the project. The first group consisted of ten (10) experts who had the knowledge, skills and fully understanding on the construction of the Improvised Threaded Scaffolding. While the other group consisted of ten (10) second and third year students who are taking up Mechanical Technology. Qualitative description was used in developing and revising the said device, weighted mean was used in determining its acceptability and t-test was used in determining its significant difference between the evaluations made by the two groups of respondents. Based on the analysis and interpretation of data, the following are hereby summarized. On the design and construction of an Improvised Threaded Scaffolding, the researchers were able to design a well detailed assembly drawing, pictorial drawing and exploded drawing of the said device out of locally available materials. On the acceptability of an Improvised Threaded Scaffolding, it was very much accepted by the two groups of respondents in terms of usefulness, safety and maintenance, functionality and durability. On the significant difference made by the experts and the students in terms of the above variables, it was found that, there is no significant difference between the evaluations made by the experts and students on the acceptability of an Improvised Threaded scaffolding in terms of four variables cited, hence the hypothesis is accepted. Based on the foregoing findings and conclusions, the researchers recommended that, the device should be improved in terms of its durability. Assistance must be given to students undergoing similar research or study to defray the high cost of materials needed. The over-all design of the device must be improved to increase its performance and efficiency |
