Summary, etc. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: The study aimed to find the cytotoxic activity of sinta leaves extract and explore the biological activity and utilization of this plant that may encourage propagation of this Philippine Herb. The study was conducted from July 2017 to January 2018, in University of Rizal System Morong, Rizal. Experimental research design was employed in the study. The extraction of Sinta Leaves was done at food testing lavoratory, University of Rizal System, Morong Campus. The Cytotoxic assay was conducted at the Biological Research and Service Laboratory, Natural Sciences Research Institute Building in University of the Philippines-Diliman, Quezon City. To determine the cytotoxic activity of Sinta Leaves extract, MTT Assay was used. it is a text that is widely used to identify cytotoxic potential of plant. Viability of cells grown in culture is widely used to identify potential toxic effects. Among the several alternative assays available MTT is the reliable and convenient method of identifying toxicity. Measuring proliferation, viability and cytotoxicity are commonly used to monitor the response of cells in culture after treatment of various stimuli. The test subject used is Sinta, since it is use by many and generally known for its uses. In determining the rate of the percentage survival of untreated and treated in Sinta Leaves Extract, Media, Triton X-100 and Sinta was used. the Cytotoxic Activity of Andrographis Paniculata (burm f.) Nees (Sinta) Leaves Extract, determined by calculating the percentage survival of the cell. The result shows that, Sinta leaves extract has shown no cytotoxic activity but it increases the percentage of the cell. Based from the findings of the study, it is recommended to conduct another cytotoxic test with different method to confirm the conclusion.
