520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc This study aimed to develop and validate and determine the effectiveness of modules in chemistry which will serves as supplementary instructional materials. The subject of the study were the students of Burgos National High school represented by 30 respondents. They were randomly selected by the researchers.

Generally, this study was focused in determining the effectiveness of modules in terms of the result in Pre-Test and Posttest that the researchers made to know the effectiveness of modules they developed. The study made used of experimental method utilizing single group pre-test and post test design and descriptive evaluative research design to determine the performance of the respondents before and after their exposure to the modules that the researchers developed

The respondents of the study were composed of the teachers in Burgos National High School and the Third Year students III-Diamond.

The instrument used in the study were the 60-item researcher made test in the learning areas and a questionnaire checklist used to evaluate the acceptability of the modules in terms of objectives, contents, activities, organization, creativity, style and presentation and evaluation

Based on the analysis of gathered data, the following findings were arrived:

The mean score of the students respondents in the pretest is 32 27, while the mean score of the posttest is 39.7.

Since the P-value 0.000 is less than 0.05 level of significant, the null hypothesis was rejected.

On the level of acceptability of modules as evaluated by the teacher respondents, the following obtained their corresponding weighted means, in Objectives the teacher assessed the modules in terms of objectives, contents, activities, creativity, organization, style and presentation and evaluation. In Objectives the teachers obtained an average of 4.02, in Contents, 3.87, in Creativity, 3.88, Organization, 3.88, Styles and Presentation, 3.94, and lastly in terms of Evaluation, 3. 88 with an average mean of 3.89. Based on the findings the following conclusions were arrived at

The students as exposed to the modules improved their performance in Science for Third year High School Students. The progress was found to be significant. The developed modules were evaluated acceptable, hence it can be use as supplementary instructional materials for Chemistry.

Based on the result of the study, the following recommendations are hereby offered by the researchers. To The students, they are encouraged to be a good observer on what is happening to our surroundings. They should seek for an answer and explore the things that God has given to them. They must enhance themselves in learning through modules. To The science teachers, they must give emphasis on how science will be made easy and interesting for the learners using the modules aside from the traditional way of teaching. To The Future Researchers, they may use the present study as a guide or may reference or may conduct similar to further improve it by using other respondents and other possible variables. Make this basis in developing new modules and betterment of science subject. To school administrators, they can use this instructional material in better insights to improved and enrich the Science program of the school.
