Summary, etc This study aimed to discern the performance of selected Grade 7 students in Reading Comprehension at San Jose National High School during School year 2023-2024. Reading is a process of recognizing letter combinations that turn into words, sentences, phrases, etc. Reading cannot be referred to as such if there is absence of comprehension. The researchers used this topic to determine the performance of freshmen student and to identify their readiness to advance to the next grade level in connection with reading comprehension.<br/><br/>The researchers used the descriptive quantitative method to appropriately describe the performance in reading comprehension of the<br/>You sent<br/>students. The sampling procedure that the researchers used was simple random sampling. With this procedure, a questionnaire was utilized. There were 60 respondents who participated in this study and were randomly selected.<br/><br/>Based on the data gathered in the study, the following findings were obtained. The respondents were mostly female and most of them had an 81-85 previous general point average in English. Most of them obtained "Very Satisfactory in their performance in Reading Comprehension. There is a significant difference in the performance of the respondents in reading comprehension when grouped according to their profile.<br/><br/>Based on the findings of the study, the conclusion was students exhibit commendable proficiency in reading comprehension.<br/><br/>This research is recommended for specific people. For the Administrators, they may allocate resources to address diverse language proficiency. For the teachers, they may implement differentiated instructional strategies to provide additional support. For the students, they may take advantage of available resources and actively engage in reading activities to enhance their comprehension skills. For the researchers, they may conduct in-depth investigations to address factors influencing gender-related distinction in reading comprehension skills. For the parents, they should engage and participate in their children's reading habits at home. For Future Researchers, they may investigate gender-related and socioeconomic factors in shaping language proficiency.
