520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc The present study aimed to determine the utilization of pelleted malunggay
leaves as a natural feed supplement for rabbit using randomized block design with three treatments and three replications each, totaling nine experimental units.
Each experimental unit contained five rabbits. In this study, the researchers applied
Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) in order to assess the data.
The experiment was conducted at 622 P. Rodriguez St. San Rafael,
Rodriguez, Rizal, in front of Elar farm. The study utilized forty-five heads (45 heads)
of in-cage rabbit as experimental animals.
The subject of the study was fed with commercially available feeds in a
controlled manner and malunggay as natural feed supplement. Treatment 1 was given pure commercial feeds while treatment 2 was supplemented with 25% of
pelleted malunggay leaves and 75% of commercial feeds, the treatment 3 was given 50% of pelleted malunggay leaves and 50% of commercial feeds.
The study utilization of pelleted malunggay leaves as natural feed
supplement for rabbit used a one-way ANOVA to compare the means of the
different treatment groups. The findings showed that there was statistically
significant effect on the average gain in weight, average feed consumption, average feed conversion efficiency and economic profitability among the three treatments. However, the supplementation of pelleted malunggay for rabbit did not
show statistically significant difference on average water consumption.
Additionally, the result on the feed cost per kilogram of live weight produced of rabbits of the treatment groups was lower compared to the control group. The lower cost per kilogram of live weight produced was obtained on the treatment groups given 25% and 50% of pelleted malunggay leaves.
Therefore, this study suggested that utilization of malunggay leaves as
natural feed supplement for rabbit has a potential benefit in enhancing specifically
on the average gain in weight, average feed consumption, average feed conversion efficiency, economic profitability, feed cost per kilogram of live weight produce and the cost per kilogram of live weight produced of the rabbit supplemented with 25% and 50% of pelleted malunggay leaves.
