| 520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
| Summary, etc | This study was focused to determine the practices in teaching and learning science. Which was conducted at Tagumpay National High School and General Licerio Geronimo Memorial National High School in the school year 2022-2023.

There were 30 respondents, such as 2 male and 8 female science teachers and 13 male and 7 female students, who were selected through purposive sampling. Qualitative method of research was utilized to assess the best practices in teaching and learning science.

In terms of science teachers' teaching pedagogy, majority of the responses focused on the integration of technology, which plays a major role in effectively delivering science lessons. While some of the responses involved providing hands-on activities for their students to stimulate their students' interest in leaming, which can improve the learners' imagination, hook their attention, and keep them interested in the discussion.

The leaming practices of the student respondents in terms of study habits, most of them responded that taking notes and reviewing were their study habits that allowed them to be active and knowledgeable about their science lesson. In terms of personal traits, most of them stated that avoiding distractions helped them focus on their studies. For the skills, most of them possess abilities such as active listening, initiative, and time management.

In the context of practices, most of the science teachers were technological integrators, such as using PowerPoint and presenting videos in their lessons, which was their way of making students learn faster. While most of the learners' roles in the context of practices were researcher, critical thinker, and leamer.

The teachers respondents incorporate technology into their lessons to improve the students performances.

Students good study habits enhance their performance and lead them to obtain their achievements in science subjects. It also reduces their anxiety about tests and deadlines and leave more time for other things in their lives.

Teachers and student respondents both preferred the integration of technology in the teaching and learning of science to easily perform the lesson. Therefore, technology has a big role in the context of practices that encourage teachers to make their lessons more interactive and informative.

Based on the result of the study, the following recommendations are hereby offered by the researchers: Students should maintain their curiosity and eagerness to learn by exploring new ideas and also improving their learning strategies like note-taking, watching educational videos, and doing self-review. Science teacher should integrate technology into teaching and always use Instructional materials to catch the attention to the students. Parents should continue supporting their children morally, emotionally and financially. To The Future researchers this study can be used as a starting point for additional research on the same topic or as a reference. |
