Summary, etc This study entitled "Social Behavior Exhibited by Selected Grade I pupils of Lupang Pangako Elementary School in Payatas B, Quezon City was conducted and observed this School Year 2014-2015.<br/><br/>This study aimed to determine the social behavior of selected Grade I pupils of Lupang Pangako Elementary School. There were sixteen (16) pupils observed during the study. It was conducted at Barangay Payatas B, Quezon City; using the Descriptive method/Qualitative type research design. The main instruments used to gather data were the observation checklists, it consisted fifteen (15) listed behaviors towards peers, parents, and teachers; the duration of the checklist was categorized to always, frequently, occasionally, seldom, and never. The researchers personally observed the pupils' behavior and answered the observation checklist; then, did a brief interview that was connected will the checklist.<br/><br/>The researchers found out that the respondents' profile in terms of sex found out that most of them were male. Out of sixteen respondents, there were fifteen male and one female. In terms of parents' occupations, they were classified as no work at all; six garbage collectors and scavengers, three vendors, three housewives; three city hall employees and barangay staff, two construction workers, one laundry woman, and one mechanic.<br/><br/>The subjects' behaviors toward other people observed towards peers:<br/><br/>Most of the subjects often helped their classmates with their assignments or seat works; only two subjects were observed doing it often while six subjects never did it with their classmates; majority of eight subjects never destroyed other children's belongings; average of five subjects often played along with classmates; majority of six subjects seldom argued with classmates. Towards parents: An average of seven subjects seldom argued with parents; an impressive majority of fifteen subjects seldom went into temper tantrums; only seven subjects said they seldom obeyed their parents as compared to nine who meet often obey their parents; majority of the nine subjects seldom fight back with parents; then most of the subjects showed respect to parents frequently. Towards teacher: Most of the subjects always participated in classroom lessons;<br/><br/>subjects often followed their teacher's instructions, majority of the eight subjects seldom interrupted class lessons; most of the subjects often followed their teacher's rules inside the classroom; then majority of the nine subjects often were not following the routine set by the teacher. Towards peers: Most of the respondents frequently argued with their classmates over minor situation. Towards teachers: Occasionally, respondents interrupted lesson by doing unwanted things in their seats. However, towards parents: Most of the respondents never fought back with their parents if they did not get what they wanted<br/><br/>In this research study, researchers came to conclude the following: (1) Social Behavior is manifested through manners, practices, attitudes, or characters displayed by the children. (2) Behaviors can be molded and influenced especially in children. (3) Those children have the ability to learn things on their own through observation. (4) That the respondents are submissive to authority and have the tendency to become law abiding individuals. (5) That parents and teachers have the ability to mold children's minds and affect their behavior through guidance and discipline. (6) That the society, including all the organizations in it (e.g. family, school, church, etc.), are also responsible for the development of the children's proper social behavior. (7) That the children's behavior does not depend on social status. (😎 That child's behaviors are the foundation of his being and identity. What he is and what he will become all depends on what set of behaviors he has today.<br/><br/>Generally the causes of the behaviors exhibited by grade one pupils were the following (a) negative environment where he lived; (b) members of broken families: (c) bullied his classmates, (d) lowered self-esteem because of always scolded by the teachers and/or parents.<br/><br/>As the researchers of this study, one offered the following effective measures for the refinement of the pupils behaviors are the following: (a) to make some rules to mold child's behavior as made by their teachers; (b) the proper guidance of their parents at home; (c) in school, a positive discipline practiced by their teachers, (d) to have a recollection like having a fieldtrip which happen to form them to realize the importance of a having a good behavior; and (e) to let them watch a movie that show good behaviors.<br/><br/>To sum up, the researchers came up with some recommendations which might help in the further development and improvement of the organizations promotion of good social behavior as follows: (A) Social rules and standards; (B) Parental Involvement; (C) Positive discipline in schools; and (D) Activities that will promote self awareness and social well being.
