| 520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
| Summary, etc | This study aimed to determine the parental involvement in the modular learning of their children. Study was conducted in Southville 8 Elementary School during the school year 2021-2022 with the total of 12 respondents comprising selected parents. To attain the objectives of the study, the researchers formulated questions regarding how they assisted their children in modular mode of leaming.

This study used descriptive qualitative study. It involved interviews to validate their answer to the survey questionnaire.

After conducting the study, the following findings were obtained.

On the profile of the respondents, most of the parents had two to three children and had below average income and high school graduate. In terms of parents' participation in answering their module, they found ways and means to
answer the modules like using google and YouTube. They ensured that they followed the weekly home learning plan.

In terms of challenges, they encountered in assisting their children in answering modules, Parents were having difficulty understanding the lesson written on the module, even trying to search on google, especially when teaching mathematics and English. Some of the parents did not finish school so they asked the older brother and sister to assist their siblings in answering their modules. The parents gave time for their child to rest and wait when they are ready. Parents passed the modules in timely manners. They passed their children's modules monthly. The schedule of passing the modules and their errands was the same. Some were late passing the modules because of the schedule. The parents recommended having a face-to-face class so that the students would understand each lesson better and be able to focus on their studies. Additionally, the parents suggested having clear and colorful printed modules so that they would be readable and understandable if the leaming modality for the upcoming school year is again modular learning again.

In conclusion, the parents' status in terms of number of children, educational attainment and monthly income are not hindrance for them in sending their children to school. When it comes to the profile of the parents, particularly in educational attainment, they found difficulty in assisting their children in modular learning.

Parents suggestion are more focus on the improvement of the modular learning.

Guided by the results of the study and the aforementioned conclusions, the researchers offered recommendations. To the parents, they should establish routines and expectations. It is important to develop good habits from the start.

Children should feel enjoyment in leaming even through modular learning. Parents should stay in touch with their children to achieve the leaming goals needed by the children, Parents should help children 'own' their leaming, by providing support and encouragement, and expect your children to do their part. To all schools, they should provide the parents and students as well with clear and adequate knowledge and values about modular leaming. Aside from this, school administration needs to extend their support even to those parents that are still not familiar with how to handle modular leaming with their child by providing awareness. To the community, this can be a good way to raise awareness to each and every citizen regarding the involvement of parents in the modular learning of their children. To future researchers, this research may be used by providing the future readers and researchers enough and accurate information about the involvement of parents in the modular leaming of their children. They could use this research including its contents in their personal studies. |
