| Summary, etc | The study aimed to develop, validate and determine the acceptability of modules on selected topics in Science and Technology for Grade 9 students. It also sought to determine if the developed instructional materials could enhance the abilities and capabilities of the students in learning concepts in Science

The study was conducted at Burgos National High School during School year 2014-2015 with the total of 40 respondents comprising selected grade 9 students for the acceptability of the modules with regard to their scores in pre-testand post-test to a total of 15 teacher-respondents comprising selected science instructors were requested for the validation of the modules. This study was conducted to determine the mean scores of the student respondents as revealed by the pre-test and post-test in the seven (7) learning areas in Science for Grade 9 specifically, loose and Covent Bang Cen Atom, Organve Compounds, Mose Mass Reina Mo-Motorbi and Percent Composition of Compouros, abo saught to desenice the mean score of the studeorrespondents betweenge test and post-test Antally, it modaured the lever of acceptability of the developed modules in Science and Technology for Grade 2 as assessed by teacher-respondents with respect to objectives, corrents, activites, Kyle and presentation, organzabon creativity and evaluation.

The study employed Descopive Methost specifically Evaluative Design for the interpretaben of data based on the progress of the students before and after the unlization of the developed modules

The instruments used of the study were sixty-tem teacher-made test out of 7 modules and a queszonnaire checklist for validation and evaluation of modules in terms of objectives, content, activities, organization, creativity, style and presentation, and evaluaren

For the validity of the research instruments, the modules together with test were examined by the experts for their content validity, as for the test made use of task of specification.

On the level of performance of the student-respondents in the pre-test and post-test, it was shown that the mean score increased from 20.5 to 39.075

On the significant difference on the performance of the student-nespondents in the pre-test and post-test, the null hypothesis was rejected since the p-value of 000 is less than 0.5 level of significance On the level of acceptability as perceived by the teacher respondenton modules, the objectives garnered 3.047 with a verbal interpretation of Acceptabile, 4.200 for content with a verbal interpretation of Very Acceptable, 4.28 for organization with a verbal interpretation of Very Acceptable, 4.3838 or very acceptable, 4 172 for style with a verbal interpretation of Acceptable, 4.028 for evaluation with a verbal interpretation of Acceptable.

Based on the findings, the following conclusions were drawn. The student-respondents learned after they were exposed to the developed modules as reflected in their pretest-posttest results. The rejection of the null hypothesis proved that there was a significant improvement in the posttest results off the respondents after their exposure to the modules. The developed modules are very acceptable to the students and teachers alike,

The researchers recommend the following: should consider the idea of utilizing the modules as instructional or supplementary materials for the advancement of the students in terms of academic performance and knowledge: the researchers are encouraging the future researchers to conduct a similar or related study to test the acceptability of the modules in Science and Technology for grade 9. |
