Summary, etc This study aimed to determine the correlation of intensive reading and speaking ability of selected education students of URS Taytay. Wherein, 137 teacher education students served as the respondent of the study chosen using purposive sampling technique. The study used descriptive-correlation method.<br/><br/>The study have shown the overall mean of the intensive reading strategies used by the respondents in Pre-reading, During Reading, and After Reading. It presented that the respondents engaged themselves more on during reading stage where in it garnered the highest mean with a verbal interpretation of strongly agree, and the pre-reading stage obtained the lowest mean with the verbal interpretation of agree. The study also revealed the overall mean of the speaking abilities used by the respondents in terms of Comprehension, Grammar and Vocabulary. It presented the highest mean with a verbal interpretation of very satisfactory when it comes to comprehension. And in relation to grammar, it gained the lowest mean with the same verbal interpretation. This study also implied that intensive reading is very effective in promoting students speaking skills; and this can be obtained when teachers use intensive reading as a medium of oral communication.<br/><br/>Based on the findings and conclusions drawn, teachers should maximize the approach in pre-reading and post reading in intensive reading strategy to sustain and develop the interest of every students when it comes to reading: administratons and the teachers shall employ the practice of intensive reading in any English classes for it is very necessary for the competency in communication and can greatly improve and reinforce students speaking skills, every learners should also maximize the approach in pre-reading and post reading in intensive reading strategies and/or give an equal emphasis to the three stages for the betterment and advancement of understanding a certain text and future researchers should also seek and conduct studies about the correlation of intensive reading into the other macro skills such us writing, listening and viewing.
