| Summary, etc | This study aimed to determine the Effects of piggy back song as motivation in learning Grade 4 Science.

The researchers used descriptive quantitative experimental method. This describes and analyzes variables in carefully controlled conditions as a basis for inferring or concluding. An experimental research, therefore, consists of manipulating experimental variables under highly controlled conditions to determine how and why a particular event occurs

This study was conducted in San Jose Elementary School during the School Year 2017-2018 involving two (2) grade four classes. From each class, fifty (50) pupils were chosen. Both groups were exposed to a method of instruction where as in experimental group piggy back song was introduced as motivation. Both classes were given pretest and posttest
Based on the gathered data, the following were drawn in pretest and post test of controlled and experimental group there was an increase in the mean score of both controlled and experimental group in controlled group from 11 92 to 13.84 while in experimental group from 11.62 to 20.26

There was a significant improvement in the mean scores of both controlled and experimental group in pretest and posttest

There was significantly high comparison of controlled and experimental group in posttest

Based on the findings of the study, the following conclusions were formulated The use of piggy back song as motivation in learning Grade 4 Science is helpful in the development of learning and thinking skills of the pupils The employment of piggy back song as motivation in learning Grade 4 Science improves the performance of the students Piggyback song is an effective strategy of a teacher in motivating the students to enhance their learning and thinking skills.

Based on the result of the study, the following recommendations are hereby offered by the researchers. The pupils need to be familiarized of the piggy back song that are being employed by the teacher. It will help them to develop their learning and thinking skills. The teachers are encouraging to use and innovate different piggyback song as motivation during class instruction for the pupils to be easily cope up and have an idea about the lesson. The school administrators are encouraging to create and conduct seminars or training for teachers on how to make and innovate piggyback song to be used as motivation and teaching strategy. The parents should help their children to appreciate piggyback song so that their children will have better skills in learning and thinking. The future researchers will help the researchers in the future when they are already teaching especially in determining the teaching strategy which they are going to utilized and suitable for their pupils. The future teachers must use the appropriate teaching strategy that could develop the learning and thinking of their pupils |
