This study tested the hypothesis that there is no significant relationship on the skills in computer gaming and the academic achievement of Grade School Pupils in San Jose Rodriguez, Rizal.

From the summary of findings, the following conclusions were drawn: in terms of the profile of the respondents, the majority of the respondents were male, twelve years of age and belong to Grade VI level. In terms of skills in computer gaming, the respondents were "skilled" in playing computer games with the computed mean of 87.7. There is no significant relationship between the skills in computer gaming and the academic achievement of the respondents.

Based on the drawn conclusions, the following recommendations are hereby offered: The School Administrators should monitor the environment outside the school campus and give restriction to the computer shop owners to avoid overstaying of the students that are just playing computer games. The students should provide interesting activities so that they will capture the students' attention. They should also inform the parents about their children in school. The parents should give attention to their child's education and they should give routine that provides set amount of the study time before they can do any other activities. They should let their children know their limitation for recreational activities like computer gaming to keep away from destructive effects and therefore make them prioritize their studies. The future researchers may replicate the study and use a larger population to know if there are changes in the result. They may also conduct the same study in which the skills could compare to a specific subject like P.E. Math, English and other area which is related in computer gaming instead of comparing it to the general academic achievement of pupils. |
