520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: This research study aimed to develop a Modified Dust Collector. This study sought to design and construct a Modified Dust Collector out of locally available materials, performed try-out and revisions, evaluated the level of performance in terms of design, functionality, usefulness, safety, and maintenance, level of acceptability of the developed Modified Dust Collector and existing Improvised Portable Dust Collector in terms of design, functionality, usefulness, safety and maintenance, and determined the significant difference on the level of acceptability of developed Modified Dust Collector and existing Improvised Portable Dust Collector in terms of abovementioned variables. This was conducted at the University of Rizal System Morong Campus by the students of Bachelor of Technology major in Civil Technology during A.Y. 2023-2024. There were thirty (30) respondents consisting of four (4) Civil Technology professors, two (2) Drafting Technology professors, two (2) Electrical Technology professors, two (2) Mechanical Technology professors, fifteen (15) Civil Technology students, and five (5) end-users selected through purposive sampling. The researchers used developmental and descriptive methods of research on the development of the Modified Dust Collector and to determine the level of performance and level of acceptability. The researchers used a researcher-made questionnaire-checklist as the instrument to determine the level of acceptability of the project. In terms of design and construction of the Modified Dust Collector, the materials needed can be acquired in local hardware and machine shops. Through try-out and revision, it was tested for operation where different operational defects were observed during the testing period, the Modified Dust Collector reached functional output and attained objectives. The evaluation of the level of performance of the Modified Dust Collector in terms of suction capacity overtime, in trial one is very capable, then trial two and three both are capable on its verbal interpretation. Then, on to the evaluation of the Modified Dust Collector and Existing Improvised Portable Dust Collector both, were outstanding, extremely acceptable, extremely functional, extremely useful, extremely safe, and extremely maintainable. This study concludes that there is no significant difference between the evaluation made by the experts and end-users on the acceptability of the modified dust collector and the existing improvised portable dust collector.
