520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc This study investigates the challenges faced by single parents in Sitio Wawa, Barangay San Rafael, Rodriguez, Rizal, with a focus on understanding their socio-economic, psychological, and social experiences. As single parenting becomes increasingly prevalent, it is essential to explore the obstacles that this demographic encounters, as well as the strategies they employ to navigate their dual responsibilities. The objectives of this research include profiling the single-parent population, identifying their primary challenges, and examining how they manage financial needs within the context of their unique circumstances.

Utilizing a qualitative approach, this research involved twenty single-parent participants, primarily through in-depth interviews and case studies. Thematic analysis was employed to extract meaningful insights from the data collected, revealing that the majority of participants were females aged between 22 and 70 years, with most having an educational level of high school undergraduate. Participants reported being single parents for durations ranging from 1 to 23 years, with monthly incomes typically between 1,200 and 6,000 pesos. These findings highlight the financial struggles experienced by single parents as they strive to provide for their families while managing their household responsibilities.

The research findings outline several critical challenges encountered by single parents in the community, categorized into psychological, economic, and social aspects. From a psychological standpoint, many respondents demonstrated a reluctance to seek professional counseling, often citing significant barriers to access, such as a lack of awareness of available resources. Instead, participants favored self-reliance and implemented coping strategies that included maintaining a positive outlook and prioritizing self-care. Economically, single parents faced substantial difficulties in meeting the basic needs of their children, often relegated to low-paying jobs with limited prospects for advancement. This economic pressure amplifies the stress associated with single parenthood, underscoring the need for targeted support services.

Additionally, the study examined the social stigma surrounding single parenting. which further exacerbated the challenges faced by participants. Respondents reported encountering negative perceptions within their communities and workplaces, which can impact their mental well-being and access to social support. While some single parents successfully accessed local government programs for financial assistance, others expressed frustration with the bureaucratic hurdles that impede their ability to obtain essential services. The need for comprehensive support systems to address these issues emerged as a central theme throughout the research.

Based on the identified challenges, the study presents several recommendations aimed at improving the conditions for single parents in Sitio Wawa. It is essential to establish community-based support groups that provide psychological counseling and facilitate connections to available resources. Additionally, the development of educational and vocational training programs is recommended to empower single parents, enabling them to enhance their employability and economic stability.

Finally, advocacy for reducing stigma and increasing awareness of the challenges faced by single parents within the broader community is crucial to promoting an inclusive environment. This research contributes to a growing body of literature focused on the challenges faced by single parents and highlights the importance of understanding their unique experiences.

By identifying support mechanisms that can be implemented to assist single parents, stakeholders can work together to create a more supportive and equitable community for this demographic. Future research should seek to quantitatively analyze financial data and employment trajectories to further elucidate the economic challenges specific to single-parent households. Ultimately, this study aims to inform policymakers, educators, and community organizations about the needs of single parents, promoting the development of tailored interventions to support their well-being and success.
