| Summary, etc. | The study aimed to assess the computer literacy of Diploma in Computer Secretarial 2nd year students. School Year 2015-1016 There were twenty 20 respondents who answered the hands-on exercises, which serve as main instrument of the study. Fundamentally, it described the profile of the respondents such as age and sex, and the application of skills in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Powerpoint. This research made use of the descriptive method to determine the computer skills of DCS 2nd year students. Frequency, percentage distributor, ANOVA were employed in computing the gathered data. From the analysis of data gathered and the results obtained in the previous discussions, the following significant findings are obtained. Majority of the respondents were 17-24 years old and female. Subject of the study's performance in hands-on examination the respondents have "very high performance with respect to MS Word and MS Excel and MS PowerPoint With regard to the result of the hands-on examination, the scores do not differ in terms of the profile of the subject. The result of the study revealed that there was no significant difference of the profile of the respondents in terms of age and sex, In terms of using the word applications majority of the respondents do performed well. Based on the summary of findings and conclusions drawn, the following recommendations are hereby offered: Technical and vocational subject must be included in the curriculum to attract male populace to pursue the BSOA; Instructional materials like hands out, modules and work text should be provided to enhance students' theoretical knowledge in computer, The University should provide additional computer laboratory for the students' to really explore the computer hardware and software, For the instructors, device more appropriate techniques and strategies in teaching computer that will enhance the student performances, and Similar study recommended to the future researchers utilizing other topics and concern in computer courses |
