Social media was seen to be a practical and useful resource for learning phonetics. However, depending on the socioeconomic condition of the students, there were found inequalities when it comes to effective use of social media for this purpose, with students from lower social classes experiencing more barriers. Social media presented distractions that could impair focus even if it made learning phonetics easier and more accessible. Students also recommended that in order to improve the accuracy and legitimacy of information and to avoid distractions, a website or app that is only for studying phonetics should be developed.
