| Summary, etc. | The study aimed to develop a Web Application-Based Self-Generating Library Identification Card, in order to streamline and speedup the process of acquiring library identification cards which is in the form of QR code, and assess its level of acceptability in terms of Functional Suitability, Reliability, Usability, Maintainability, and User-Friendliness. The study was conducted at University of Rizal System Morong Campus during the school year 2023-2024. The study included a thorough review of feedback from a significant number of participants, consisting of 50 students and 10 experts, totaling 60 respondents. To fully understand the collected data, the researchers utilized a statistical method called weighted mean. This method helped combine different viewpoints and considered the varying levels of importance of each respondent's feedback. Data collection was made easier by using a researcher-modified questionnaire checklist that was matched to the study's objectives. The questionnaire used a five-point Likert scale to correctly evaluate participant responses. By using this approach, the study remained on track with its original objectives while also acquiring essential insights necessary for its further development. The research utilized both developmental and descriptive research methodologies to comprehensively address its objectives. The developmental research method was applied to analyze and test the study's system, facilitating an examination of its functionality and effectiveness in achieving its goals. Conversely, the descriptive research approach was employed to scrutinize the data gathered during the evaluation phase of the study. This enabled a detailed assessment of the collected data, empowering researchers to derive valuable insights and conclusions regarding the study's findings. Based on findings from the evaluation, respondents unanimously praised the system device for its efficient processing time and high capacity. Users appreciated its quick accessibility, with just a single click granting access to their e-library identification card, and its ability to handle multiple users simultaneously. Moreover, respondents provided insightful feedback on its convenience compared to traditional systems, highlighting its crucial role in efficiently managing library operations, particularly in issuing identification cards. In terms of the acceptability of the system regarding Functional Suitability, Reliability, Usability, Maintainability, and User-Friendliness, the evaluation revealed significant perceptions among respondents. The variables all received high scores, indicating "Extremely Acceptable" perceptions among respondents. Particularly noteworthy were the features such as the edit button, restore button, QR code regeneration, and daily log audit-trail, which contributed to the praise for usability and user-friendliness. The high average obtained in the survey underscore the study's successful achievement of its objectives, confirming the effectiveness and satisfaction of users with the implemented system. This positive reception validates the thoroughness of the system's design and development process, indicating its potential for widespread adoption and long-term utility in enhancing library operations. Moreover, it highlights the importance of user feedback in continuously improving and refining the system to meet evolving needs. The recommendations for improving the system device design include implementing functionality for administrators to generate extra admin accounts, maintaining fixed student numbers upon registration, and incorporating a Time Out column in the audit trail. Future researchers may explore integrating an internet connection, and making the audit trail records printable to improve the study's acceptability. Integration of the ETL (Extract, Transform, and Load) process is also suggested to enable administrators to import official student numbers from a separate file into the database, ensuring registration only for students with numbers stored in the database. |
