| Summary, etc | This study aimed to analyze the movie, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, directed by David Fincher and screenplay by Eric Roth. This study discussed the struggle of an individual against time, true love that understands time. Love plays as the main focus of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button while Identity and Aging was emphasized as the themes of the story. The movie, the curious case of Benjamin button, is rich details that it became the researcher's material for careful analysis and interpretation. The character's actions plans, decisions, conflict, and motives have proved to be interesting data of analysis.<br/><br/>Based on the movie the following questions were answered. The symbol shown in the movie was time, the narrator is the first person point of view, and characters affect the flow of the story. The focus of the movie is how time affects the characters. Social problems shown in the movie are prostitution, pre-marital sex, family and adultery. The conflict was resolve when Benjamin left his family. the Irony of the movie is when his father left him at the home for the aged. There were different viewers comment, but it is still an entertaining movie and good for in-depth analysis, in terms of human experiences the movie has shown a lot of related human experiences and relevance in today's time. The movie's end is unpredictable because of different possibilities it can have.<br/><br/>Based on the findings of the study these conclusions were drawn; the movie is a good movie to analyze because of its irony and how characters reacted to each situation of the movie. The theme, values, significance in human life, and the essence of the movie will be a good material for students to understand certain things when making their own analysis. This study will make student s and other researchers enjoy and study a movie at the same time. The students will find this analysis helpful for their future research on movie analysis. Based on the conclusion of the movie the students are expected to develop their sense of critical thinking and judgment as to what movies are worth viewing, for Educators being mentors of the young generation, this study humbly attempts to offer a reference material that may aid them imparting the facts of life to their students and subsequently effect the value formation of every learner. For the movie enthusiast to watch a movie is one thing, to take hold of an internationally claimed movie is another. This literary analysis will add more substance to their viewing as they will be combining viewing for pleasure with viewing for depth and analysis, for the researchers this will serve as a take off point for more and deeper analysis. |
