Dissertation note: Thesis Bachelor of Science in Guidance and Counseling University of Rizal System-Morong. 2018 Summary: EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: This study aimed to determine the career development and performance of guidance and couseling personnel in selected schools in Rizal. It was conducted during the first semester of the school year 2017-2018. The respondents of the study were 30 guidance counseling personnel in selected school in Rizal. The subject of the study were the guidance and counseling personnel in selected schools in Rizal, who described in terms of their profile such as age, sex, civil status, monthly income, highest educational attainment, status of appointment and length of service, and type of school. This study used the questionnaire checklist as the main instrument in gathering the needed data. It will be validated with help of experts in the field of guidance and counseling. The data were gathered, tabulated and interpreted using frequency and percentage distribution determine the profile of respondents in terms of age, sex, civil status, highest educational attainment, monthly income, status of appointment, length of service and type of school. Mean was applied to determine the level of career development of the respondents with respect to the given aspects. Mean was applied to determine the level of performance of the respondents with respect to the given aspects. One Way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) was employed to find the significant difference on the level of career development of the respondents with respect to the given aspects in terms of their profile. Chi-square was employed to find significant difference on the level of performance of the respondents with respect to the given aspects in terms of their profile. Pearson-r was applied to find the significant relationship between the level of career development and the performance of the respondents. Most of the respondents are female guidance personnel in public and private high schools in Rizal who are 30-39 years old, married, with units of master's degree, permanent, with 8-10 years in service, with monthly income of 15,000-24,999. Career development of guidance and counseling personnel is rating. The profile of guidance personnel are not contributory to their career development. The performance of guidan e personnel are not affected by their profile. No releationship is found between performance and career development. The following recommendations are hereby offered such as guidance personnel are encouraged to attend to seminars, conferences or workshop to enhance their capabilities and to be updated with current trends in line with their specialized, pursuing post graduate studies is highly recommended and further studies may be conducted considering other variables.
