EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: This Study aimed to determine the level and the relationship of self-esteem and academic achievement of fourth year students of Carlos "Botong" Francisco Memorial National High School during the school year 2012-2013. The subject of the study was composed of one hundred fifty (150) respondents who were chosen through purposive sampling technique. The variable considered was academic achievement. The instrument used was an adopted questionnaire checklist by Morris Rosenberg entitled Rosenberg's Self-esteem Scale. General Weighted average from first year to third year was used to be the basis for academic achievement. The descriptive method of research was used utilizing the survey technique. Data through the questionnaire were collected, tabulated and interpreted with the use of appropriate statistical treatment. Frequency and percentage were used to describe the level of self-esteem and the academic achievement of fourth year students of Carlos "Botong" Francisco Memorial National High School. Regression analysis was utilized to determine the if self-esteem predicts academic achievement and correlation coefficient was used to find if there is significant relationship between self-esteem and academic achievement of fourth year high school students. Based on the data gathered, the study revealed that fourth year students of Carlos "Botong" Francisco Memorial National High School possess a positive perception of themselves that they are worthy persons which manifest to their academic achievement and end results to obtaining a high grades. Based on the findings, he study proved that self-esteem is highly correlated with academic achievement which means that a student who has high self-esteem will likely to have high academic achievement while those who have low self-esteem have poor academic achievement. Based from the conclusions drawn, it is highly recommended that teachers and parents put extra effort and attention not just by teaching the students with proper education but also being with the potter that molds the student's personality especially their self-esteem. The school should provide programs and activities to uplift the self-esteem of the students. It is also further recommended that a follow-up study be conducted.
