Summary: EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: The study was conducted to determine the role of empathy on bullying among male and female high school students of Morong National High School during the school year 2014-2015. This study covered the male and female high school students from grade 7 to fourth year who bully. The variable that were used are effective and cognitive empathy which determine the relationship to the traditional and cyber bullying among male and female high school students. The study used the descriptive method of research specifically survey method utilizing researcher made questionnaire checklist as the instrument in gathering the needed. The research instrument was validated by the experts before it was administered to the respondents. Based from the summary of findings and conclusions, on the extent of bullying among male and female high school students with respect to the traditional bullying, it was found out that male bullies are more likely to engage in physical bullying than female bullies. However with respect to cyber bullying, it was found out that both male and female bullies does not engage in cyber bullying. On the extent of the role of empathy on bullying among the male and female high school students with respect to effective empathy, it was found out that in bullying male bullies has higher affective empathy than female bullies. While with respect to cognitive empathy, it was found out that in bullying male bullies has higher cognitive empathy than female bullies. On the significant relationship between the role of empathy on bullying among the male and female students, the data revealed that for male respondents, there is significant relationship between cognitive empathy and traditional bullying. While for female respondents, there is significant relationship between affective empathy and traditional bullying. However, for both male and female there is no significant relationship between affective and cognitive empathy on cyber bullying. On the role of empathy on bullying, for male bullies cognitive empathy has a significant relationship to traditional bullying while for female bullies there is significant relationship between affective empathy on traditional bullying. However, there is no significant relationship between the role of empathy and cyber bullying. On the basis of the foregoing findings and conclusion, the following recommendations are hereby offered. The results of the study must be disseminated to the secondary schools s that school officials, faculty members and students must be aware on the relationship of empathy to bullying. Guidance Counselor must continue their student activities and counseling sessions relative to the elimination of bullying among students. Different government agencies must also give support in the dissemination of relevant information on anti-bullying. Follow-up study must be conducted considering other variables.
