EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: This study was conducted to determine the cell phone dependency and the academic performance of the Bernardo F. San Juan national high school students. This was conducted in the school year 2012-2013. The subject of the study comprised 200 students of the Bernardo f. San Juan national high school in Cardona, Rizal enrolled during school year 2012-2013. This study used descriptive method of research utilizing the researcher's made questionnaire checklist in gathering data about cellphone dependency and the academic performance of Bernardo F. San Juan national high school students. Moreover, documentary analysis was used for the academic performance of the respondents. The data gathered using researcher's made questionnaire checklist were statistically treated using mean and standard deviation, mean and ranking Pearson product moment (Pearson-r). The findings revealed that cell phone dependency has a significant relationship with the academic performance of the respondents. In terms of financial responsibility, the respondents were very responsible enough to handle it, that they were adoptive and accountable when it comes to modern approaches. Moreover, with respect to the importance of cell phone dependency, the respondents were responsible enough in using their cellphone on a more useful way. They were aware on the significant importance of cell phone and they know where and how to use it. Lastly, the third aspect of cell phone dependency, which is communication well with their supporting network. They are using their mobile phone on important matters not just for entertainment only. The respondents academic performance classified as cell phone users were found out to be "fair". This implied that their academic performance was not badly affected by their mobile phone. It explained that they can control the use of their cellphone with knowing on when and how to use it. The respondent performance can be considered as a good one for it did not result to conflicts regarding their grades. It also showed that the respondents were responsible to their studies even though they used cell phone. It is much different from the other expectations that cell phone mostly give bad influence to their studies. From the findings, the following were recommended: The school authorities should give considerations to the students in using cell phone to attain maximum and effective learning, the students must be aware on the proper use of cellphone that could help in their academic performance and parents should be cooperative with their children's teacher for guiding them on proper use of cell phone.
