Dissertation note: Thesis (Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education major in Special Education) -- University of Rizal System-Morong. Summary: EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: This study was conducted to determine the present level of performance of child with autism and to develop appropriate behavior modification program to address the weakness of the child found during the course of the study. The research was conducted during the academic year 2013-2014 in University of Rizal System Morong Rizal. The subject of the study is child with autism. This research used case study and descriptive research design. Assessment tools as interview to parent and teachers and observational checklist were utilized to gather information regarding the PLOP of child with autism to determine his strength and weaknesses. Mean and qualitative discussion were the statistical treatment used to answer the problem in line with the study. The researchers conducted observation and interview where the child with autism encountered difficulties. The result of the data showed that the child with autism can perform well in different functional areas of development, such as communication and socialization skills. On the other hand, he needs helps in socialization and he cannot do well in social interactions skills, thus, he requires full assistance from adult. To address the needs and weaknesses of the child with autism, a questionnaire checklist was developed. Questionnaire checklist was carefully selected to meet objectives set for child with autism to achieve desired learning outcomes. Therefore the developed behavior modification program is very accommodating and truly appropriate for this kind of person which helps to provide conducive outcomes of the needs of the child. The researchers recommended to engage the child in different events to enhance his socialization; provide programs and seminars in school about behavior modification strategies to elicit the awareness on how to handle the behavior of child with autism; organize a session for occupational therapy that will focus on the child's behavior such as play therapy, speech therapy and physical therapy; use the applied behavior analysis (ABA) techniques and principles to bring about meaningful and positive changes in behavior.
