Dissertation note: Thesis (Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering) -- University of Rizal System-Morong. Summary: EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: In this study, the researchers thoroughly studied the compressive strength of concrete hollow blocks, the actual cost in building a wall using a concrete hollow blocks and fine aggregates, the researchers came up with an idea to make an alternative material that can offer the same strength or even greater compared to a concrete hollow block. With this the team developed a material which the researchers called Concrete Lego Block. The researchers also considered the cost to this project and aimed to make it more economical than concrete hollow blocks by using recycled aggregates coming from a demolished structure. Developmental and experimental methods were used in the study, the process involved knowledge and principle in experimenting and utilizing in material testing. First, the researchers made a comparison between our concrete Lego Block and Concrete Hollow Blocks in terms of its strength and the cost. The block that the researchers developed was put under the Universal testing machine to determine the compressive strength of the lego block to support our idea that it can be a replacement to the concrete hollow block that the researches are using. The researchers found that the blocks exceeded the compressive strength of normal blocks which is 3,000 psi while the developed block came with the result of 18,291.024 psi thus supporting the idea of the researchers that can provide the same or greater compressive strength compared with the concrete hollow blocks. The analysis showed that the material developed can be replacement to the concrete hollow blocks and that it is more economical compared to the usual blocks that are used in constructions.
