ABSTRACT This study entitled "Survival of Bare-rooted and Balled White Lauan (Shorea contorta Vidal) Wildlings" was conducted at URS Tanay from September 15 to November 15, 2018. The study used the experimental research method employing T-test. The experiment had a total of 120 sample wildlings, which were subjected to 2 treatments. Each treatment was consisted of 6 replications. The study was conducted to determine which has better response between bare-rooted and balled White Lauan (Shorea contorta Vidal) wildlings in terms of average number of new leaves developed, average height increased, average diameter of stem and survival rate. Based on the result of the study, there is no significant difference on the response in terms of average leaves developed, average height increase, average diameter of stem and survival rate of bare-rooted and balled White Lauan (Shorea contorta Vidal) wildlings. The researcher recommends using other dipterocarp species to further study the effects of balling and bare-rooting on wildlings.
