Summary: EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: The study entitled Angela Manalang-Gloria and her Three Poems: A Feminism Approach was conducted at the University of Rizal System Morong, Rizal, A.Y. 2014-2015, Its purpose is to deeply understand Feminism as paradigm being shown in Angela Manalang-Gloria's works. Consequently, the researchers also aimed to explore views and insights on the paradigm which illustrates the social, economic status, and family relationship through the three selected poems of Gloria. The researchers utilized feminist approach because the purpose of this study is to critically analyze the selected poems of Gloria. This is needed to measure and see the problems being faced and presented in the selected poems to measure and see the problems being faced and presented in the selected poems in which they sought to analyze the following objectives: first is to describe the status of woman in the three selected poems of Angela Manalang- Gloria in terms of being a lover, a mother and a woman, second is to illustrate the stages of feminine, feminist, and female in the three selected poems, lastly, to evaluate the common ideas and themes reflected on the selected poems of Angela Manalang-Gloria. Angela Manalang-Gloria's literary works that were analyzed included the three poems entitled "Paradox", "Revolt from Hymen" and "To the Man I Married". In terms of feminist analysis, images of women were found in the analyzed poems. Those were the one that was submissive, dependent and the one that needs social acceptance. Furthermore, the researchers also found out the different stages of feminism that were present in Gloria's works. First is in "Paradox", after the persona got pregnant, the persona finds way to manage her life. Having a son made her realize the mistakes she had committed. She found out that at the end of a long journey, she is the one who will make herself happy. Next, is the "Revolt from Hymen", in here, the persona is found submissive at the middle part of the poem. When she had realize these things, she seeks for independence to be recognized in the society. Lastly, "To the Man I Married" talks about the wife that is dreaming for individuality. It portrayed that woman will still have and continue to dream for herself despite of her status of life. The poem also showed strength and weaknesses of a woman. The following strengths of a woman include love, self-acceptance and independence while the weaknesses were love and gender orientation. Moreover, the researchers also found the common image and themes present in her works. In the end, it was revealed that the poems of Angela Manalang-Gloria can be critically analyzed using a Feminist Approach. Her poems can also show the society's different point of view about gender orientation. The researchers recommended for further analysis of Gloria's work especially for the English major to verify the ideas presented by the researchers. The researchers also recommended analyzing these poems using formalist and Psychoanalytic Approach to view the different perspective of the poem.
