Online resources: Dissertation note: Thesis (Bachelor of Technology major in Mechanical and Production Technology) -- University of Rizal System-Morong. Summary: EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: This study aimed to developed an Improvised Pipe Cutter with Deburring Device out of inexpensive and locally available materials. Specifically, this attempted to determine the level of acceptability of the developed Improvised Pipe Cutter with Deburring Device in terms of safety and maintenance, usefulness, durability and functionality. And it was conducted at the University of Rizal System during school year 2015-2016. The researchers utilized an instrument which is a researchers-adapted modified questionnaire checklist to determine the level of acceptability of the project was a validated instrument accomplished by the respondents who provided information for the completion of the study. The result were tallied and computed for analysis. There were two groups of respondents who tested the acceptability of the project. The first group consisted of ten (10) experts who had the knowledge, skills and fully understanding on the construction of an Improvised Pipe Cutter with Deburring Device while other group consisted of fifteen (15) second and third year students who are taking up diploma and Bachelor of Technology courses major in Mechanical Technology at the same University. Qualitative description was used in developing and revising the said device, weighted mean was in determining its acceptability and t-test was used in determining its significant difference between the evaluations made by the two groups. Based on the analysis and interpretation of data, the following are hereby summarized; on the design and construction of the developed improvised pipe cutter with deburring device, the researchers were able to design a well detailed assembly drawing, pictorial and exploded drawing of the said device out of locally available materials. On the acceptability of the developed improvised pipe cutter with deburring device, it was very much accepted by the two groups of respondents in terms of safety and maintenance, usefulness, durability and functionality. On the significant difference made by the experts and the students in terms of the above variables, it was found that there is no significant difference between the evaluations made by the mechanical and technology experts and students on the acceptability of the device in terms of the four variables cited, hence, the hypothesis is accepted. Based on the foregoing findings and conclusion, it was recommended that, assistance must be given to students undergoing similar research or study to defray the high cost of materials needed. Improve the over-all design of the device to increase its performance and efficiency. And additional study on the larger size of Pipe Cutter with Deburring Device should be done.
