Project Development Report Bachelor of Agricultural Technology

The Project Development Report was entitled NIWATORI's Broiler
Project It is a Japanese term of chicken. The name was chosen because of its
uniqueness and catchy word. The project was managed by the proponents
namely Abegail C Aguilar, Noel E. Cañas, Richard V. Pascual and Mark John F.
Salen.
The project was located at the University of Rizal System Rodriguez
Campus in front of Agriculture Bunlding It was completed in two cycle
operation. The first cycle was started on August 29, 2013 to October 13, 2013
while the second cycle was started on December 05, 2013 and terminated on
January 19, 2014. It was composed of four hundred (400 heads) of Cobb Van
Tress strain of broiler. The stocks for the first cycle were purchased in Urban,
Rodriguez Rizal at twenty seven pesos (P27.00) per head. A total of two hundred
(200 heads) with a total amount of five thousand four hundred pesos (P5,
400.00), while the second cycle was composed of two hundreds heads and
purchased at Malanday Livestock Poultry Rodriguez Rizal, at twenty three pesos
(P23.00) per head, amounting to four thousand six hundred pesos (P4, 600.00),
The total amount of stocks was ten thousand pesos (P10, 000.00).
The first activity in the project was to look for the project site.The
proponents renovated the cxisting poultry house to protect stocks from intruders,
predators and others. After the renovation the proponents cleaned and disinfected
the poultry house prior to the arrival of the stocks. The manner of feeding was

adlibitum, the stocks were fed with crumble type of feeds. The first feed was
consumed during the 1 cycle was Broiler Chick Starter. It was fed within 25
days and Broiler Grower was given for 20 days The total feed consumcd in the
Ist cycle operation was (345 kilos). In the 2d cycle of operation Chick Booster
was used and it was fed in 14 days. Next was Broiler Starter and it was given in
14 days. Lastly the Broiler Grower was consumed in 17 days The total feed
consumed in the 2nd cycle was (460 kilos) The total feed consumed in the
whole operation was (805 kilos) The proponents replaced the water every
feeding schedule or when the water contaminated by poultry waste
Marketing of the stocks were done after 35-45 days. The producewas sold
to the faculty members, friends and relatives It was sold in live weight and dress
weight basis. The dress werght was amounted to one hundred thirty peso
(PI30.00) per kilo, while in live weight amountedto one hundred peso (P100.00)
per kilo. The total kilo of live weight was (149. 72 kilos), while in the dress
weight the total kilo was (183.4 kilos)The total produced in the whole operation
was (333. 12kilos), with the total gross sales of forty one thousand four hundred
eighty nine pesos (P41, 489 00).The project's expenses was amounted to forty
thousand two hundred twenty one pesos and fifty centavos (P40, 221.50), with
the Net ncome of one thousand two hundred sixty seven pesos (P1,267 00) and
Return on Investment of (3.15 %)
There were problems encountered during the implementation of the
project such as the poultry house was not properly renovated where predators
such as cats and rodents casily attacked the broiler and caused hiph mortality rate
