Online resources: Summary: This study looks at how superhero toys are changing to include different gender identities. These toys let kids be more flexible in how they see themselves and others. By having characters who aren’t strictly boys or girls, this study shows that everyone is unique. This helps kids explore different sides of themselves without feeling limited by old ideas about what boys and girls should like. It’s not just kids who benefit—grown-ups also learn to accept people for who they are when they see diverse characters in toys. Moreover, the impact of these toys extends beyond childhood, influencing the perceptions and attitudes of adults towards gender and identity formation. Through increased representation, these toys contribute to a more accepting and understanding society, promoting empathy and tolerance among individuals of all ages.
