This study was focused on the implementation of special programs in Batasan Hills National High School during the School Year 2019-2020.
Descriptive evaluative research approach was applied in determining the status of the implementation of the special programs in terms of physical resources, human resources, and curriculum. Qualitative approach was utilized to determine how the school heads managed the special program in terms of policy, physical resources, selection and retention. The said approach was also helpful in identifying problems encountered in the implementation of special programs.
Purposive sampling was applied for the four school heads and seventy teachers respondents.
From the gathered data, the following were the consolidated findings: The special programs in Batasan Hills National High School were Special Programs in the Arts, Special Program in Foreign Language, Science, Technology and Engineering Program and Technical Vocational Program.
With regard to the status of implementation of the special programs, in terms of physical resources only Science, Technology and Engineering had complied with the required facilities. In terms of Human Resources only Technical Vocational Program failed to conform to the standard requirements for the facilitators, In terms of curriculum Technical Vocational program could not offer agricultural and fishery arts and practicum. On school heads' management in terms of policy, they conducted early planning. In terms of physical resources, they did the outsourcing. In terms of selection, they followed religiously the set guidelines. In terms of retention, they offered intervention and recommendations.
With regard to problems, they highlighted policies being applied which they deemed not applicable anymore and needed to be revisited.
From the enumerated findings, the following conclusions were drawn: There are special programs being offered in Batasan Hills National High School to improve the special skills of students. Special programs have their own strengths and weaknesses significant to their implementation. Teachers are resourceful and creative in the management of the special program,
