GS THESIS Master of Arts in Teaching Major in Mathematics University of Rizal System, Rodriguez, Rizal year of 2022
The study was focused on the Development of Manipulative Materials in Teaching Grade 7 Mathematics utilizing experimental and qualitative methods of research. It was conducted at Ampid National High School during the Third Quarter of School Year 2020-2021.
The participants were determined through random sampling where three heterogeneous sections were randomly selected from fifteen (15) heterogeneous sections divided into two (2) online distance learning, five (5) modular-digital distance learning, and eight (😎 modular-printed distance learning. The three sections were chosen from the five (5) sections of online distance learning modality as two (2) experimental groups and one (1) control group by fishbowl method where the first 2 drawn are the experimental groups and the other is the control group.
The teacher created a test that was administered to the Grade8 students and was subjected to item analysis to determine the index of difficulty and discrimination of the test items consisting of one hundred (100) items. A parallel pre-test and post-test were administered to the three (3) groups to recognize their performance regarding Geometry.
