Dissertation note: GSTHESIS Bachelor of secondary Education Major in Biology Science University of Rizal System, Rodriguez, Rizal 2013 Summary: The main purpose of this study is to determine the potential of the extracted oil from the Allamanda cathartica Linn (Yellow Bell) leaves as a source of fuel, using physical testing such as: Flame Test (color of the flame, height of the flame), rate of the combustion and percentage yield of extracted oil by mass. The researchers chose the Allamanda cathartica Linn (Yellow Bell) leaves as a source of fuel, because it had been observe that it has a fixed oil content like triolein, tripalmitin and stearin in its leaves and is also used as anti The researchers used the experimental method and the counter- balanced design, the formulation, production and the determination of the potentiality of extracted oil from the Allamanda cathartica Linn (Yellow Bell) leaves as a fuel. The study was delimited only in gathering and extracting of available resources of yellow bell leaves during the preliminary experimentation just to test the potential of the leaves to be used in the production of fuel in leaves of Allamanda cathartica Linn as a good source of oil in making fuel, the researchers finally conducted final experimentation on producing oil using the leaves of Allamanda cathartica Linn (Yellow Bell). final testing was conducted also at the University of Rizal System Rodriguez Science Laboratory on February, 2012 with a total of 300g of collected leaves, 300 ml of Petroleum ether solution and three researchers in determining the level of potentiality of the extracted leaves from Allamanda cathartica Linn (Yellow Bell) as fuel. The experimentation is limited on the physical test such as flame test, percentage yield, and rate of combustion due to unavailability of some expensive apparatuses needed during the experimentation. After the different physical testing conducted and based on the tables presented the researchers concluded that as the mass of Allamanda cathartica Linn (Yellow Bell) leaves increases at the constant volume of Petroleum ether, the volume of extracted oil also increases. But it is not economically a potential source because of its low percentage yield that in 300g of Allamanda cathartica Linn (Yellow Bell) leaves, only 0.9ml of oil were extracted. Allamanda cathartica Linn (Yellow Bell) leaves can be a source of when mixed with kerosene. The differences of the extracted oil from the Allamanda cathartica Linn (Yellow Bell) leaves that of the kerosene is that they both exhibit a flame but they differ in the color and height of the flame that they release. This shows that the extracted oil from Allamanda cathartica Linn (Yellow Bell) leaves have a short span of releasing flame as compared to kerosene. Based on the findings and conclusions, the researchers formulated the following recommendations: To the future researchers, may improve this study by means of using other chemicals to enhance this research by testing the chemical content of the oil specifically the octane content of it and use some extensive apparatuses for testing the oil. The Government should support the study of many aspiring researchers like the students that may contribute and lessen the burden of the community. The School Administrators, the school should provide the students an adequate science laboratory apparatuses to pursue them for their studies and to have an eagerness to discover new things especially related to science.
