Dissertation note: Undergraduate theses Bachelor of Science in Social Work University of Rizal System Rodriguez, Rizal year of 2023 Summary: This research study intented to discover challenges encountered by the senior citizens in Payatas B, Quezon City during the COVID-19 pandemic. The study used the qualitative research method, utilizing the questionnaire as the primary data gathering tool. An interview was conducted to find out what was the overall experience of the senior citizens during the outbreak of the pandemic. The researchers interviewed twenty senior citizens residing in Payatas B, Quezon City. They used certain questions like the background information of the respondents, the challenges encountered by the senior citizens in terms of physical, social and emotional and lastly, the suggestions and recommendations of the respondents in order to address their needs. The study revealed that the challenges that have been encountered by the senior citizens during COVID-19 pandemic are the following: first when it comes to physical, some of them have an existing illness like high blood, cold, cough, diabetes and asthma, When it comes to social the COVID-19 pandemic most of the respondents experienced difficulties in socializing with their families, friends, and neighborhood. Emotionally, most of the respondents felt that they were scared and nervous because they might get infected. They also felt worried for the sake of their family. The common suggestions and recommendations of senior citizens are mostly about monthly cash assistance, medicine for their maintenance, recreational courts for other activities and for the safety of the senior citizens that will use the facility, and provide a lot of services that all senior citizens can acquired. Therefore, the researchers conclude that our local government should see the situation our senior citizens experienced
